What is ExAM?
ExAM is an Excel-based TPRM tool that provides a structured outsourcing process compliant with MaRisk and DORA requirements. Its built-in logic and questionnaires have been examined in numerous annual financial statement audits and follow-up audits, while remaining flexible enough to accommodate your specific needs. You receive updates at least twice a year to help you stay up to date.
-
During initiation, users can enter key details about the service to be procured. Action prompts can also be generated automatically based on the selected whitelist category.
-
Users can complete the full classification process under both MaRisk and DORA. The institution’s own processes can be incorporated into the tool. The included questionnaire can be used as provided or tailored to the institution’s needs.
-
The risk assessment covers both the service and the (ICT) service provider, with the latter assessed through due diligence. The institution can use a range of predefined questionnaires or adapt them to its needs. Customisation is possible at almost every level.
To address the findings of the risk analysis effectively, users can draw on automatically generated control measures. Standard control measures are also provided and can be tailored to the institution’s specific requirements.
-
Users can record, classify and assess subcontracting arrangements in accordance with both MaRisk and DORA requirements.
-
Users can define exit triggers, courses of action, exit processes and more.
-
Users can enter the master data needed to populate both the outsourcing register and the register of information. If required, ExAM can also support ongoing management and monitoring using KPIs, KRIs and other indicators.
-
A comprehensive settings section allows you to customise almost every function in the tool, including classification and permissibility questionnaires, risk assessment questionnaires, control measures, individual master data fields and dropdown lists.
We provide a template file that lets you transfer your customised settings to any new technical version of ExAM, ensuring they are preserved when you update the tool.
Is ExAM an end-user computing (EUC) application?
Yes, ExAM is an EUC application and should go through your organisation’s EUC governance process. We provide everything you need, including EUC documentation, release notes and an up-to-date user manual.
What is ExAM not?
If you are looking for a workflow-based SaaS solution, we are happy to help you select the right software, rather than supply it ourselves. ExAM is an Excel-based tool that makes extensive use of VBA. It is easy to use and very affordable to purchase, but it is by no means comparable to a SaaS solution.
